Essential Oils 101: Energy Healing with “Scents”

Jan 2009      Essential Oils 101: Energy Healing with “Scents”

We each have four aspects where we experience pain and pleasure; in the physical, emotional, mental, and the spiritual. All healing modalities used in Energy Clearing Therapies™ address each of these areas. Doing so creates a holistic approach to the healing process.

I’ve found that using essential oils is profoundly helpful in every issue presented by a client. They are used to clear and calm the pain of the immediate issue. They are helpful in balance and supporting the newly achieved balance. They just plain smell good which lifts one’s energy sytems.

So what are essential oils? They are the distilled essence of plants. Various parts of the plant can be used; root, leaves, needles, bark, flower, rind, buds. The essence is the highest vibratory part of the plant, the very part that makes a tree a pine, instead of a spruce. It is this pure, wonderful essence that will resonate with our bodies and assist us in achieving a higher vibration. That is why using them feels so good, we are literally “high”. That feels good, so it very desirable to get and stay that way.

The company that I buy my oils from is Butterfly Express. I sell the BE oils at deep discount and all of their oils are available through The BETH YOUNG Center.

Oils are used diffused by putting a drop on a cotton ball and setting it near to the bed or desk, wherever the user is spending some time.  Commercial diffusers are also available and they operate like steamer sending drifts of mist into the air, infused with the oil. The delicate skin in our noses are very effective in delivering the healing essence into the blood stream which makes it available wherever it is needed.

Effective for massage, it is sometimes necessary to add a very few drops of the essential oil to a larger amount of what I’ll call a carrier oil. Good carrier oils are almond, coconut, grapeseed, and olive. High quality oils that you may already have in your kitchen will work very well for this purpose. Put a small amount of Message Oil in the cupped palm of your hand, add the desired essential oil, stir with the middle finger of the opposite hand, rub hands together to distribute oil, then apply and massage as needed.

I have available several oils that can be used as perfumes. Heart Song, Sego Lily, and Believe oil blends are excellent for this purpose, but they are pure and have no arrowroot stabilizer added, so the scent doesn’t last all day like perfumes.  The purity of these oils is worth that small sacrifice.

Adding oils to bath water is a wonderful and soothing way to get a nice dose. There is an especially good resonance for upper respiratory issues, the steam from the water delivering the desired oil to help with the distress. Eucalyptus, cedarwood, and myrtle are among the singles that effective for this. Because these aren’t usually really oil, but essence, they don’t leave an oily ring. Bonus!

This is just a tiny overview of the usefulness of essential oils, but the best way to learn about them is to start using a few, then increasing  your stock gradually. You’ll be glad you did.
